ABOUT THE OWNER – Karen Fox
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for fitness. When I was very young, I loved horseback riding, biking, swimming, and anything that involved being outdoors. And when I entered college, it seemed only natural to take health and fitness related classes. I wanted to study what I loved – and I did! After becoming a certified personal trainer, I began working for Fitness Concepts, a studio formerly owned by Christie Thrasher-Rudd. There, I learned how to incorporate and customize different aspects of training, making fitness effective and fun!
After getting married and starting a family, I took a break from personal training to stay at home with my two daughters. Oddly enough, I found yoga by watching several Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste videos. When I started doing it, I fell in love with the practice. I immediately knew this was something I had to teach! After extensive preparation and training, I opened my first yoga studio in 2007. My yoga journey has been an exciting one, full of growth, inspiration and change. The business now includes two additional studios, over 70 wonderful staff members and the most recent addition, True Fitness & Wellness Center.
ABOUT TRUE FITNESS
I believe that being fit isn’t only about how you look in the mirror. It’s about your total health and well-being…… inside and out! I designed True Fitness because I think healthy living should be done with mindfulness and intention, and I thoroughly understand that a holistic approach to fitness produces the best results. I’ve experienced this for myself, and I created True Fitness so that I could share it with you!
When I found yoga about fifteen years ago, I loved it; I felt compelled to open a studio and share this beautiful practice with as many people as possible. For several years, I practiced yoga almost exclusively, giving up cardio and weight training. But recently, I realized that I needed something more…… I needed a fresh new change!
WHY INDIANAPOLIS CRYOTHERAPY?
As we get older, we begin to lose bone density and muscle mass. We’ve been exposed to harmful toxins and are also more susceptible to injuries and ailments. As I began to address these concerns in my own life, I quickly realized that the answer to better health could be found with a thoughtful, comprehensive approach. In addition to yoga, I started going back to the gym and doing cryotherapy. I improved my diet and I also began to explore using the spa services I enjoyed on vacations for more than just relaxation. I wanted to learn the science behind what I was doing; when I did the research, I discovered that there were literally hundreds of health benefits. No wonder I was starting to feel better!
I knew my program worked – because I could see and feel the results. Now, I have more energy and less joint and muscle pain. My blood pressure is lower and overall – I feel great! I opened True Fitness for the same reason I opened my yoga studios, to help others live a happier and healthier lifestyle. And that’s what True Fitness is….. a proven, effective and healthy approach to wellness!
